The initial purpose of this radio ministry was to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the Portuguese speaking people in Africa in countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and the Island of São Tomé e Príncipe. At the end of last year, we felt that we should extend the ministry to Brazil, where the official language is also Portuguese. During our trip to Brazil this passed November, we decided to share this desire with local pastors. By God’s grace, we were able to establish a partnership with the First Baptist Church of Betim-Minas Gerais. Pastor Itamar Silva will now be broadcasting the Character First programs at the church’s missionary field located in the Valley of Jequitinhonha, about 500 Kilometers (310 Miles) from the city of Betim. The broadcast is being carried by “Radio New Alliance” FM 102.7 KH and ten programs have already been aired. Our production of the programs are voluntary and the church is covering the broadcasting costs.
The Bible says: “He sends his command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.” Psalms 147:15. Yes, the word of God runs swiftly through the radio waves, reaching people where they are, with the message of hope and peace.
O propósito inicial do nosso ministério de rádio, é de proclamar o evangelho de Jesus Cristo aos povos de língua Portuguesa na África, como Angola, Moçambique, Guiné Bissau, Cabo Verde e São Tomé e Príncipe. No final do ano passado, sentimos que deveríamos extender o ministério para o Brasil, onde a língua oficial é também Portuguesa. Assim, durante a nossa viagem ao Brasil em Novembro do ano passado, sentimos que deveríamos expressar aos pastores esse desejo. Pela graça de Deus, firmamos parceria com a Primeira Igreja Batista de Betim-Minas Gerais, pastor Itamar Silva, de irradiar os programas no campo missionário da igreja localizado no Vale do Jequitinhonha, que fica a 500 km da cidade de Betim. Até agora, dez programas já foram irradiados. A irradiação é feita através da Rádio Nova Aliança FM 102,7 KH. Nós produzimos os programas voluntariamente e a igreja paga os custos de irradiação.
A bíblia diz: “O Senhor envia o seu mandamento à terra; e a sua palavra corre velozmente” Salmo 147:15. Sim, a palavra de Deus corre velozmente através das ondas de rádio, alcançando as pessoas onde estão com a mensagem de paz e esperança.
